Strategic Environmental Assessment

As part of the preparation for arc21's Waste Management Plan, arc21 carried out a Strategic Environmental Assessment (SEA) of the Plan.

 

SEA is a systematic method for considering the likely environmental effects of certain plans and programmes.

 

It aims to:

1) Integrate environmental decision making into plan/programme preparation and decision making;

2) Improve plans and programmes and enhance environmental protection; and

3) Increase public participation in environmental decision making.
