Our Vision - To be the partner of choice on waste and resources

The Corporate Plan sets out the key strategic objectives that will need to be achieved in order to deliver the support required by arc21’s constituent councils with the delivery of the Waste Management Plan.

The last four years have seen significant changes in waste management policy and waste management activities and this continues, the continuation of existing proposals and emerging developments will introduce a level of change not seen for many decades. This direction of travel has been described as a game changer in the waste and resources industry.

Preparations to support the constituent councils to meet these challenges, and the need to step up that support from the Joint Committee has been addressed in this Corporate Plan.  New corporate strategies to meet these current and emerging challenges have been developed in order to enable arc21 to support councils’ waste strategies, and to prioritise resources and expertise to help deliver those objectives. 

In developing the Corporate Plan, we consulted with our stakeholders, listened to the challenges they face and their expectations of us in terms of the services they need us to provide and the areas of support they would like us to develop. We are all too aware of the difficulties facing our partners and of the need for us to work closely with them to provide efficient, effective and value-for-money services that contribute to the ambitions they have set.
